Job Responsibilities

• Teach through Mathnasium methodology and terminology, using prescribed teaching practices
• Actively encourage, motivate, and engage with students during the instructional session
• Correct student work and provide positive, constructive feedback
• Manage student behavior to create a positive environment that optimizes learning
• Communicate student needs to center leadership and instructional staff in a team-teaching environment
• Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice.
• Assist in non-teaching tasks, which may include cleaning, administrative assistance, or other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Passion for math and working with students
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Eagerness to learn and be trained
• Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I
• Ability to balance various ongoing tasks
• All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.

Additional Info

• During the school year, our center is open Monday-Thursday 3:00-8:00 pm and Saturdays, 10 am-1 pm. During the summer we are open Monday-Friday 10 am-2 pm and Tuesday-Thursday 5-7 pm.
• We ask that Instructors are available to work for at least 5 hours each week. Scheduling is flexible, and we are more than happy to work with school and other work schedules.
• Instructors are paid from $11-$15/hour depending on experience, education, and math skills. There are opportunities for advancement into other positions- e.g., Lead Instructor.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
